Requested Payment Direct Debit
If you have a Direct Debit set up to pay your Requested Payment, once you take out an instalment plan this amount will increase to include your monthly instalment plan payment.
Fixed payment Direct Debit
If you have a fixed payment Direct Debit, we will increase it if it’s not enough to cover the Requested Payment that covers your instalment plan.
Full payment Direct Debit
If you have a Direct Debit set up to pay your balance in full each month, we will collect your standard credit card balance plus that month’s instalment plan payment. Because the instalment plan payment is only part of a larger amount being repaid over a longer time period, that means you won’t repay the full amount you owe. We will take the total amount you owe, minus any remaining instalment plan payments and promotion balances.
However, if your plan is cancelled then please take care. We'd move the full instalment plan balance into your standard credit card balance, so your next month's Direct Debit could be much higher. If this happens, you might want to change your Direct Debit set up to help manage your money. You can do that in the Virgin Money Credit Card app.
