When you receive a refund, the Virgin Points you earned for that amount will remain in your Flying Club balance. This means that your points balance will not increase until you have spent enough to earn the Virgin Points received for the refunded transaction. Here's an example to help explain it below:

  • You buy something for £100 with your Reward+ Credit Card, you earn 1.5 points for every £1 spent, which is 150 points.
  • Five days after the date your statement is issued, the 150 points are added to your Flying Club account.
  • If you receive a refund for the £100 purchase, that £100 will show on your credit card statement as a credit.  As a result the balance you owe on your credit card will be £100 less.
  • The 150 points that you earned for that £100 purchase will stay on your Flying Club account.

You won't start earning any Virgin Points when using your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card until you have spent another £100 (which is enough to earn the Virgin Points received for the refunded transaction).
